Reiki Sessions
Reiki is available to anyone to heal and support mind, body and spirit. Through the regular practice of Reiki, we can begin to see the possibilities. Those possibilities are endless and are available to help round out the rough edges, to smooth the worry, anxiety and angst that has become part of our daily lives today. Our living souls are asking for foundational light- asking for support to help us love one another, to accept what is challenging and meet it with grace and compassion. We crave opportunities to bless away the hard and challenging energy and find joy in moments. Joy and love are what feed us- it’s what we are most needing right now. Our soul needs pathway clearing. We need to make room for better and more fulfilling things; embracing the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, the beauty of laughter, of hugs and passion.
What happens in a Reiki session?
Reiki Master, Victoria Bodner, LMT, explains. “Practitioners will typically give Reiki treatment in a peaceful, private setting. However, the treatment can take place anywhere. During a session, the client will sit in a comfortable chair or lie on a table, fully clothed.
The practitioner will then place their hands lightly on or over specific areas of the client’s head, limbs, and torso. They will typically keep their hands in these positions for 3–10 minutes.
If there is a particular injury, such as a burn, the practitioner will hold their hands just above the wound.
Advocates state that while the practitioner holds their hands lightly on or over the body, an energy transfer takes place. During this time, the practitioner may report that their hands feel warm or are tingling. They will hold each hand position until they sense that the energy has stopped flowing.
When the practitioner feels that the heat, or energy, in their hands has gone, they will remove their hands and place them over a different body area.”
